As if.

It’s true. Their salary has tripled, they now have professional staff, professional physiotherapists, a nutritionist, better field conditions, more family time… according to the players themselves they got everything they asked for until next time they were asked β€œcan we do anything else for you?” The players answered β€œyou’ve done it all”.

Do you have a source for that by chance? Would love to post the correct information

What we’ve gotta understand is that “the modern Internet is abolishing spaces for adults” and “the modern Internet is abolishing space for children” are compatible phenomena. Neither group is being favoured: the modern Internet is abolishing spaces for adults (i.e., because grown-up topics aren’t advertiser friendly) and the modern Internet is abolishing spaces for children (i.e., because online communities which consist principally of people who have no money are hard to sell things to). The Internet that contemporary corporate interests are trying to build isn’t a space for anyone – it’s the digital equivalent of an Ikea showroom.

Like, when I say that the greater part of contemporary social media is fundamentally hostile to human life, I’m not indulging in hyperbole or constructing an ironic metaphor. I mean that 100% literally.

An article took a deep dive into what’s wrong with the DFB (German federation) and the German Women’s National Team - DFB Frauen - around the WWC. There are more things in there but these seem most important:

  • MVT spent the entire world cup not talking to some players. (wtf??)
  • The DFB pressured Bayern to let Guilia Gwinn play the World Cup. It’s noteworthy, that both her ACL tears came during camps with the National Team, not during club time.
  • Very poor treatment of Maroszan around her last game. Eg. she had to pay for the seats so that her family could come and see her play, she also only got subbed on in the 64th minute which is odd.
  • Players didn’t know what their role/tactics regarding their position was during the World Cup (that’s been part of the conversation before).

The article cites a lot of “someone close to the team” and what not, many anonymous sources. These things should still be taken into consideration.

We also learned from Lina Magull’s mother on Instagram that the players of the English WNT got 10k each to ensure that their families/friends could be at the world cup, the German players got 0€.

The DFB is taking the same route with the women’s team as they are with the men’s team. MVT should be gone already, instead they’re still trusting her with the team.

They did just announce that apparently Nadine Kessler will become the new GM of the DFB which is a good sign. Maybe she will fire MVT now. (Unlikely, they gave her a new contract just this year, it would be very expensive to fire her rn.)

gerwnt dfb frauen wwc23 lina magull mvt I'm more and more convinced the Euros were a fluke because lots of players are just good and were in stellar form last year like they didn't make it that far because of mvt but rather despite her
